Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the proctoring flow and candidate privacy.
How is candidate privacy protected?
We do not record, process, or store candidate video data on our servers. The composite recording is processed purely on the client side inside the candidate's browser. Candidates then upload their final video link directly from their preferred host (Google Drive or YouTube), retaining full control over who has access.
What happens if a candidate's browser crashes or they lose internet connection?
The ProctoRec SDK automatically buffers and saves recorded video chunks sequentially in the browser's IndexedDB. If the browser tab crashes or the system restarts, the candidate is prompted with a clear "unsaved session recovery" banner on load to download and save their recovered attempt.
Do candidates need to install any external software or browser extensions?
No. ProctoRec operates entirely in the browser using modern HTML5 media capturing and screen sharing APIs. It supports Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari natively without requiring any external downloads.
Can admins customize test attempts and durations?
Absolutely. Admins can create customized assessment questionnaires in Markdown, specify precise time limits, and configure maximum allowable attempts per candidate.
